For this week’s blog post, I decided to compile a bunch of my favorite shots that I’ve taken with the TX-10 CyberShot camera from Sony. To me, this series of photos shows off a lot of the amazing capabilities of the CyberShot, including a fireworks mode, underwater mode, panorama, macro settings, and more.

To own a Sony camera is to love it. Get one here. (5% off for students!)

First off, I didn’t think it was possible for me to love any camera more than I love the TX-10. And yet, Sony has blown me away again.

For all the camera techies out there, the Nex-5 is a bit like a miniature DSLR camera. It has a compact body, but can still handle the big, professional lenses that capture gorgeous, richly detailed images. If you have experience with SLR cameras that use film, or you just want to mess around, the manual shooting mode is a great wya to unleash your creativity. Literally, I just spent half an hour playing with the aperture and shutter speed to achieve different looks as I was taking pictures of things in my room.

But for those of us who are not quite such big camera-nerd, there are also lots of fun effects to choose from such as toy camera, posterization, high contrast, retro, and partial color, which are all great, easy ways to transform the way your photos capture the world.

Best of all, I know that no matter when or where I’m taking pictures with this camera, I’m going to get the shot. The Sony Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and SteadyShot  technology will make sure of that. Whether my hands are shaky or the lighting is dim, Sony has got me covered.

I haven’t even tried out so many of the features yet. Like the TX-10, the Nex-5N is capable of shooting in full HD video, aside from being able to shoot up to 10 frames per second. It also shoots wicked cool panoramas in 2D and 3D. I can’t wait to test out that feature when I go to Colorado this summer.

In case all these cool features aren’t enough, you can add to the abilities of your camera by purchasing any one of more than 30 different kinds of lenses. I will definitely be asking for a macro lense for Christmas this year so I can take the kind of mind-boggling super close-up shots you see in books and magazines.

With all the ways it can can adapt to suit your skill level and photography needs, the Alpha Nex-5N is a camera I would recommend to anyone. That’s why I decided to write this post. I genuinely adore this camera and I’m sure you will too.

Part of my job as a Sony Student Ambassador is to brush up on my knowledge of the latest and greatest Sony technology. Most recently I learned all about Sony’s newest line of point-and-shoot cameras: the TX20, TX66, and the TX200. Now, while I genuinely believe that all things Sony are great quality products, I have to say that I love their cameras the most.
For compact digital cameras, you really can’t beat these three stylish, functional, go-everywhere models. I have a TX10, a slightly older model, and I love it because there’s seriously nothing that it can’t do. It has a mode for everything form beach scenes to fireworks to underwater.
That’s right, I said underwater.
The TX20, TX66, and TX200 are also waterproof up to 16 ft. underwater, so you really can take them anywhere. I know I’ve had so much fun taking my TX10 to the beach, the pool, and just dunking it into glasses of water to see friends’ reactions. In addition to being waterproof, these cameras are also dustproof, the TX20 and TX66 are shockproof from drops of up to 5 ft.
So which one is for you? If you need a super slim, classy camera, the TX200 with its sleek glass front is perfect for you. It comes in black, silver, red, and purple, so you always have a chic way to capture the moment that fits right in you purse or pocket.
If you’re the kind of person who could use some extra durability, but still love technology that fits your sense of style, consider the TX20 or TX66— between the two there are 8 different colors to choose from! Express yourself in shades of blue, pink, black, green, silver, orange, white, and violet.
No matter which camera you choose, you can be confident you’ll get crystal clear shots, even in dim lighting thanks to a professional quality Exmor R CMOS sensor, a Carl Zeiss lense, and 10x Clear Image zoom that keeps your subject in focus, even as you zoom.
I truly believe that these cameras are some of the best on the market, and after my experience with a Sony Cyber-shot, I’m never going back. Right now is the perfect time to buy because you can save up to $50 when you pair select Cyber-shot cameras with a case and service plan. This is a purchase you’ll never regret, trust me.

On March 13, Sony announced their newest product in the line of Xperia phones: the Xperia sola. This brand new smartphone will allow its owners to interact with it in ways previously unseen in cellphones, though the technology is similar to that used in Kinect for Xbox. More details on exactly what the technology will improve in  phone function is to be released soon. Check back for updates soon.

In the meantime, check out more brand new Sony products including the world’s first folding tablet here

As always, get a student discount by shopping for all your technology needs at www.sony.com/UD :)

One of the qualities of Sony products that always amazes me is their all-encompassing functionality. Anything you could think of that you wish your technology was capable of, Sony brand is. Want your tablet to function as a wireless remote? Check. Need a camera that can go up to 16 feet underwater? No problem. How about a TV that harnesses all the power and entertainment possibilities of the internet to combine it with the features you love about cable and a large screen?

Done.

I am really excited to write this post because I’m dying to get my own Sony Internet TV 3D Blu-ray Disc Player. While the name may seem like a mouthful, its only because there’s no other way to easily convey the vast potential of what’s produced when Google and Sony combine their talents to form TV and the internet’s perfect child.

Meet Internet TV.

With a gorgeous LED Internet TV or a Blu-ray Disc player that functions with your existing television to make it into an Internet TV through built-in Wi-Fi and a premium Intel processor, you can experience the full span of entertainment that the web, your cable provider, DVR, episodes and movies on demand, YouTube, Netflix, Crackle, Pandora Radio— and even android apps— have to offer. Using Google’s wicked-fast browser, Google Chrome, you can easily search across all these media streams, including live TV, and find exactly what you’re looking for. Feel free to update your Twitter while catching a flick on HBO or browse the net as you watch the game picture-in-picture.

Too screen-happy to get up and find the remote? No worries. Just download the app and use your android phone.

Bet you didn’t realize that Sony makes docking stations for your iPod. But why should you buy Sony-made speakers for your Apple mp3 player rather than Apple speakers?
First of all, Sony’s portable speakers for iPod and iPhone go where you go, featuring a fold in mp3 dock and up to 7 hours of rechargeable battery life. Next, these speakers also offer five different listening modes, so if you want to turn up the bass and rock out, go ahead. Or if you’re tired of cycling through the same songs on you iPod, switch to the radio for a bit with the built in FM tuner. Last, but not least, you don’t even have to get off the couch to put on your music— simply use the included wireless remote to control your iPod or iPhone from across the room.
And when it comes to value, the answer is that similar quality speakers cost up to $250, whereas Sony speakers (with all the same capabilities and the Sony promise that means they’ll stand the test of time) are on sale for more than 25% off through tomorrow. Better hurry!

Feel like an undercover super hero….. get yourself a brand new Sony SmartWatch. This nifty little gadget caught my attention among all the cool new pieces of technology recently revealed at CES. The tiny screen can be attached to a shirt clip or, for spy-like convenience, placed on a watch band. It boasts a multitude of widgets and features that work together with your android phone, including alerts, calender, Bluetooth, music player, Twitter, Facebook and a ton of other handy programs. Ask the Ambassador

What’s one of my personal favorite Sony products, you ask?

Well, aside from all of them, I would have to say that SOny’s PIIQ Smooth Headphones have really earned my respect. First off, they’re definitely the most comfortable pair of headphones I’ve ever owned. Not only do they fit my head well, but they also adjust when I turn or move around, using a  sweet Flex Motion design.

Next, these babies earn some serious style points.

I have them in gray, but the pop of pink is what really makes them as good looking as they are.

But of course, what’s more important when you get down to it than the sound? I love the way PIIQ phones mold to the shape of my ear to block out noise. That way, I don’t have to have my music turned up super loud to enjoy it. When I do want to blast it however, Sony still produces a level of sound quality that far surpasses the rest.

You know you want ‘em.
